Reflection - When I Lean Into My Discomfort | A Journey of Vulnerability and Growth

Here's a collection of our videos and picture reflections on social media for today. Enjoy your time to reflect and contemplate in your mood journal.

Reflecting on a Journey of Vulnerability and Growth

There comes a point when we find ourselves doing things without even realizing it. It's like we're in a situation where we're unconsciously burying our emotions. I've been there – telling myself I'm okay when deep down, I know I'm not. It was three weeks ago when a small argument with my husband left me feeling frustrated because I couldn't express how I truly felt. This led to a misunderstanding between myself and my family, plunging me into the midst of a challenging situation.

I've been struggling to balance the needs of my husband and my family, feeling the pressure to keep everyone satisfied. I don't want to let anyone down, including myself. Then, a week later, my boss and mentor, Ignatius, introduced a coaching program, and I thought to myself, "Why not give it a try?" I've always loved learning new things, so I invited my sister and her friend, Jessa, to join me.

And I remember the first thing he said: 'How are you feeling today?'

Initially, I thought it would be just like any other coaching session, but boy, was I wrong! During the coaching with Ignatius, I found myself hesitant to show my true emotions because of the issues I was facing with my family. The exercises were insightful, and Ignatius was incredibly wise – he didn't need me to say a word before knowing what I was feeling.

Reflecting on my recent journey with Ignatius Coaching
How are you feeling today?

Feeling so exposed in front of him was astonishing and unnerving. But with his guidance and reassuring voice, he helped me overcome my fear of expressing my emotions.

What was supposed to be a 90-minute session turned into 120 minutes – two hours that flew by in a blur of self-discovery. I don't know if I've adequately expressed my gratitude to Ignatius for his presence and teachings.

In the second session, I finally let it all out. I mean, I truly let it all out, even with my sister's presence in that coaching session. She saw me cry and was worried that I would completely break down, but I simply smiled at her and hugged her tight. After the second session with Ignatius, I learned two invaluable lessons: to acknowledge and embrace my emotions, and not to be afraid of my thoughts.

If Ignatius were to read this blog, I would want him to know how proud and thankful I am to work with him. His presence and teachings have made a significant impact on my life, and for that, I am truly grateful.

It's Time to Pause and Reflect

1. Have you ever found yourself suppressing your emotions without even realizing it? What impact do you think this has on your overall well-being?

2. How do you navigate challenging situations where you feel torn between the expectations of your loved ones and your own needs and desires?

3. Are you comfortable showing your true self to those around you?

4. Have you ever sought guidance or support from a mentor or coach during times of emotional turmoil? How did this experience impact your journey of self-discovery?

5. Reflecting on your emotional journey, what strategies have you found helpful in acknowledging and embracing your feelings rather than pushing them away?

Closing Thoughts

If you've ever felt like there's more to your emotions than meets the eye, or if you've found yourself struggling to express how you truly feel, you might find value in exploring Ignatius's coaching. He offers a unique approach that goes beyond the surface, helping you delve deep into the heart of your emotions and guiding you toward a greater understanding of yourself. It's not about fixing what's broken – it's about embracing the journey of self-discovery and growth.

So if you're curious about what lies beneath the surface of your emotions, perhaps Ignatius's coaching could offer you some valuable insights.
